Musa Abdul-Basser is Of Counsel to NOVA Business Law Group, LLP, where he advises clients on fund formation and securities matters. Musa brings more than two decades of experience as a capital markets and cross-border transactional attorney, having counseled clients on public and private securities offerings, investment adviser regulatory compliance, and Islamic finance structuring.
Over the course of his career, Musa has held senior in-house roles including Chief Legal Officer, Global General Counsel, and Chief Compliance Officer at financial services and fintech companies, giving him a practical, business-minded perspective on the legal and regulatory issues facing investment managers and fund sponsors. He has led the structuring of sophisticated securities offerings across the U.S., U.K., and EU, and has more than a decade of experience advising on innovative Islamic finance products and transactions, including work on some of the first Shariah-compliant liquidity instruments developed for institutional use.
At NOVABLG, Musa supports the firm’s fund formation and securities practice, working with entrepreneurs and institutional clients on entity structuring, offering documents, regulatory compliance, and related transactional matters.
