James C. Freije, Counsel

Mr. Freije received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the College of William and Mary and his Juris Doctor from the University of Baltimore School of Law.  During law school, Mr. Freije served as the Managing Editor of the Intellectual Property Law Journal and served as an intern law clerk with the Baltimore City Circuit Court.

While attending law school and after graduation, Mr. Freije worked as a legal assistant in the University of Maryland Biotechnology Institute’s Office of Business Development and Technology Transfer.  After moving back to Virginia, Mr. Freije worked for an Am Law 100 firm in Washington, DC, for fourteen years.  As part of his practice, Mr. Freije counseled clients involved with state and federal governmental investigations, accountants’ liability, campaign finance, and complex commercial disputes, as well as other regulatory, criminal and compliance matters.

Mr. Freije is an attorney in the firm’s litigation practice group, representing our clients in various disputes in state and federal courts in Virginia, Maryland, and the District of Columbia.  Mr. Freije also dedicates his time to pro bono causes, including immigration matters and estate planning for first responders.
